This page explains what True SWTOR Guilds and Microsoft Clarity process when you visit our faction gateway and guild subdomains, and how you control optional analytics.

Who this policy covers
True SWTOR Guilds is a fan-operated community website. This policy applies to trueswtor.com, republic.trueswtor.com, and empire.trueswtor.com.
The sites do not provide user accounts, payments, or application forms. They link to external services such as Discord, which operate under their own privacy policies. This project is not affiliated with BioWare, Broadsword, Electronic Arts, Lucasfilm, or Disney.
Microsoft Clarity analytics
We use Microsoft Clarity to understand navigation, page usability, performance, and which content is useful. The Clarity tag does not load until you choose Accept analytics in our privacy controls.
If you accept, we send Microsoft Clarity a Consent V2 signal granting analytics storage. Advertising storage is always denied, and we do not use Clarity for advertising. If you reject on your first visit, our site does not contact Clarity. You can change or revoke your choice at any time through Cookie settings in any site footer.
Clarity's project-level cookie setting is disabled by default. A valid consent signal is therefore required before Clarity can use analytics cookies for your visit.
Cookies and local storage
We do not use browser local storage for analytics consent. We use one necessary first-party cookie to remember your choice across the gateway and both faction subdomains. Optional Clarity cookies can be used only after acceptance.

After consent, Microsoft may also use operational or analytics cookies on Microsoft domains, including CLID, ANONCHK, MR, MUID, and SM, subject to browser support and Microsoft's policies.
What Clarity may collect
After you accept analytics, Clarity may collect page and DOM layout information; clicks, scrolling, mouse movement, selection, resizing, and other interaction events; script or image errors and performance diagnostics; device and browser information; and approximate location inferred from an IP address.
Clarity uses DOM and mutation information to reconstruct session playback. Microsoft states that privacy-sensitive content is masked rather than sent as readable text. We do not intentionally send character names, Discord identities, or other guild roster information as visitor identity data.
Why we use analytics
- Improve navigation, mobile layout, readability, and accessibility.
- Find broken interactions, JavaScript errors, and performance problems.
- Understand which guides and guild information visitors find useful.
We do not sell analytics data, use it to make decisions about guild membership, or use it for targeted advertising.
Storage and retention
Microsoft stores Clarity data in its Azure cloud services and controls the service's storage and deletion processes. Microsoft's current documentation states: Playback data is retained for 30 days. Click data is retained for 9 months. Sessions that are labeled or favorited can also be retained for 9 months.
The ttr_analytics_consent preference remains only in your browser for up to one year unless you clear it sooner. True SWTOR does not copy this preference to its own server database.
Your privacy choices
- Reject: Clarity does not load on your first visit.
- Accept: Clarity loads with analytics consent and advertising storage denied.
- Change or revoke: use Cookie settings in any footer. Revocation sends a denied Consent V2 signal and updates the shared preference.
- Reset: clear cookies for
trueswtor.comin your browser to remove the saved preference.
Analytics is optional. Refusing it does not restrict access to any page or guild information.
Children's privacy and external links
This community and its recruitment information are intended for adults aged 18 and over. External destinations such as Discord and Microsoft are responsible for their own data practices.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page when the sites, analytics configuration, or applicable service documentation changes. The effective and last-updated dates at the top identify the current version.

For a privacy question or request, contact the guild through our official Discord server. Because Clarity data is pseudonymous and we do not know a visitor's real identity, locating an individual record may not always be possible.
